Torrens University Faculty of Business and Hospitality was endorsed as a new member of the ABDC at the Council’s AGM in February, taking the ABDC’s membership to 39 university business faculties and schools.

The Torrens University Faculty of Business and Hospitality is the first private, for-profit member of the Council, comprising four schools that include the highly credentialed Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School.

On behalf of the ABDC, its President, Professor David Grant, welcomed Torrens University as a new member of the Council.

“At a time of considerable change and disruption for Australian business schools our members have much to gain from Torrens’ success in industry engagement and links to its global network of on-campus and online education providers. We look forward to the contribution and different perspective Torrens will bring to the Council this year and beyond” he says.

Torrens University’s Pro Vice Chancellor, Business and Hospitality, Dr Greg Harper, stated:

As Universities faced serious challenges in 2020, Torrens University focused on collaboration across higher education – including working with over 100 Australian Higher Education institutions on the first Virtual Careers Expo. We look forward to joining the ABDC, working with business schools and contributing to its work promoting excellence in business.”
